Plunge Service Trips
Each year, students and staff members participate in our Plunge service week, during which they spend Spring Break completing a week of service with people in need.
Our community service projects are an outward sign of The College of New Rochelle's continuing commitment to its heritage and mission, "respond to the needs of society." The Service Plunge is available for interested students in all four schools.
2015 Plunge Service Trip: Romero Center Ministries
Students, staff, and faculty will "plunge" into the 2015 Plunge Service Trip opportunity during January intersession (January 11 to 17), traveling to Romero Center Ministries in Camden, NJ.
This is an urban service experience, in which CNR students will be immersed in the challenges and issues that confront persons living in America's inner cities.
This is a faith-based organization open to students of all religious traditions. The week includes daily prayer and reflection on Catholic social teaching.
Service activities can include the following:
- manual labor
- neighborhood clean-ups
- serving food at soup kitchens and food banks
- spending time with people at nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, homeless shelters, and hospitals
